SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES DURING COVID-19
OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Because of our calling to serve the members of our community with love—both Christians and non-Christians—we have established partnerships with other ministries in the body of Christ that are advancing the Kingdom of God through serving the people of the RDU area. Below is a list of the various organizations and groups that we have developed partnerships with. Please complete an interest form, and someone will follow up with you about the next steps to get involved!
DRM is renovating old hotel rooms for homeless women and children as they're trying to get back on their feet. By providing a roof over their heads and programs run by the DRM, these women and children are being loved and discipled with the heart of Jesus. If interested in serving alongside Matt & DRM, please complete an interest form!
Durham Rescue Mission
Pardoned by Christ
Pardoned by Christ’s vision is to establish in-prison, transitional, and community based Christian programming for justice-involved individuals throughout North Carolina. This is demonstrated with bible study, church services, and mentoring programs in both adult and youth facilities. If you have a passion to serve the members of this community, please complete an interest form!
Gaming Community
To come against the norm of isolation in the gaming culture, a group of men from our church host a gathering for gamers to build healthy community with one another while receiving training and skills from gaming industry professionals. If you are passionate about helping create a healthily-competitive gaming culture amongst teens and young adults in the area, please complete an interest form!
Free Moms
“Free Moms” are Mom's in our community with a desire to demonstrate the heart of the Father toward millennials. Birthed out of a longing to offer students authentic friendship and love, Nancy Nelson leads a group of mothers on the NCSU campus each week. They offer each passerby free cake, friendship with no strings attached, mom hugs, and a business card that has a “Free Mom” phone number that they can call whenever they're looking for someone to talk to. “Free Moms” also pray with students and look for additional ways to build relationship. If you are interested in joining Nancy, please complete an interest form!
Pregnancy Center Advocates
As a church, we are committed to serving women in the community through medical, educational and support services and resources related to pregnancy without condemnation. As women are faced with the difficult decisions required amidst an unplanned pregnancy, we want to be a place of safety and unconditional love. Please complete an interest form to learn more about how we seek to serve them!
Mike & Annie Wiseman are living in an apartment complex with mostly Sudanese, Afghani, Honduran, and Guatemalan immigrants and refugees. Their goal is to love the people in this community: to see miracles, signs and wonders, followed by simple gospel and discipleship, that will lead to new believers trained to do the same. Their aim is to plant simple churches that not only impact the city of Durham, but also their neighbor’s home nations.
